Ipsy Bag September 2016 - Glamazon

Well it has been certainly a hot minute since I last posted. I ended up in the hospital with a serious condition but after a few surgeries and some home care I'm back.

I've missed a bunch of Ipsy unboxings because of what was going on and also ended up unsubscribing from Birchbox for personal reasons. Below is September's bag

Shopping on the cheap

A recent trip to Big Lots gave me an idea for a new post about going to cheaper stores, finding deals and not paying so much for things that I love to splurge on.  Thankfully Big Lots to the rescue with overstock and discontinued items. Just a warning though, not all products will be in all Big Lots and sometimes if one store has it one day they  may not have it the next day.

So, I'm a big fan of lotions that instantly melt into your skin and leave no residue. I was surprised by this lotion and it's ability to do that. Usually cheap lotions are greasy and never ending on the skin. I took a chance on a dollar lotion and it payed off. The back states it is distributed by TriCostalDesign and the finished product is not tested on animals. But that doesn't really mean diddly when it comes to the pre-finished stuff.

It smells like hospital antibacterial soap but nicer. Not sure if that translates well to how it smells but I'm serious, it smells like that.

I love finding Maybelline there and they're usually hidden because they go super quick! By this I mean that they get a shipment of makeup and it's usually already picked through to get the best brands. I've seen Revlon, Covergirl, Maybelline, etc. Another thing to look out for is if the product isn't in shrink wrap OR a package check to see if anyone tested it out.

This color is actually still part of their current collection and I found it on the website here but there are rumors that it will be discontinued. Lust for Blush, #25, is a rosy pink nude which is very wearable all year round. It was only $3.50USD which they go for about $8USD on the website.

That's it for now! I don't usually find things in one trip so I hope I can test out more products that are new to me!

Ipsy Bag July-February

Seems like I got a little behind! I'm going to jam all the pictures in one post so you can see what you can get each month in each bag.

Ipsy $10 a month, cancel at any time.
For $10 a month you receive a makeup bag and about 4-5 deluxe sized to full sized samples of products. The products can range from low to high priced and are from brands you already know to new ones that are just out in the market. Every month they have a large array of products they could send out based on a test you take when you first sign up.

June Ipsy Bag

Summer has finally showed ...like 2 months ago BUT! it still is here and not nearly finished. Rebecca Minkoff designed this months bag and I swear before we got it, I had seen this pattern in a magazine or on a tv show. I had serious deja vu when I saw it.

You know, eventually I will post other things on my blog here but for now I need to catch up to my old ipsy bags since we're already in June!

March Ipsy Bag

Sorry! This is a little late as I completely forgot to post this. But the show must go on! Next post will be April and within a few weeks we will have May's already.

If you don't know Ipsy is $10 USD a month taken out on the 1st of every month, then an email is sent sometime after the 10th to the 15th with your tracking info. Usually after the email you'll receive a bag within a few days with 4-5 either full size or samples of makeup products that are tailored to you from a test given on the site.

February Ipsy Bag

You guessed right if you think it's Ipsy bag bloggity blog time! This month mom and I got the exact same product and colors. And for a treat! I made a video of me unbagging it! It's my first video so enjoy the fumbling and newb-like instances.

December Ipsy Bag

This month's was quite a surprise! I got my email on the 12th stating that the bag was coming and by magic it was already on my doorstep. Something tells me that the email and bags ended up all flustered. The best part is that my mom finally got a bag as well.

November Ipsy Bag

It's that time again! I got my new bag super early! I'm still waiting on the other subscription box in the mail that's for ladies only. Hopefully, that shows up soon.
This month's bag was titled Glam it up! which on the card told of a contest. Apparently, if you take a great photo of the stuff you got and tag #ipsy on Instagram or Facebook you could win a year of Ipsy free.
The second card was from the brand .em by Michelle Phan that told we would be receiving not a sample but actual full sized product. The line is on the pricey side so it's nice to be able to get full size.

 More below the cut!

October Ipsy Bag

This would have been post number 7 but unfortunately (and I don't know how) one got deleted. It's gone, too much went into it, time consuming etc etc.. Not gonna repost.

So on to the happy stuff. IPSY!!

Tasty Tea

This post was pretty much an excuse to use my new phone again and a new collage app. That and this tea is amaza-balls!

Yeah, I said Amaza-balls.

Anyway, I'm a fan of tea and since I can only afford the bagged stuff I'll try just about any flavor I find inticing. I don't know what Hibiscus tastes like by itself but it makes the orange nummy.

A longer post is coming since my Ipsy showed up today!

September Ipsy Bag

This month's Ipsy Subscription came a little late then usual for me as did my email. The bag actually came before the tracking number told me it was there. According to my number, the bag is still in Kentucky LOL! There is going to be a lot more babbling in this post because some of the products or things inserted need a bit of explanation.
As always so not to spoil it for anyone not having received their bag yet, it's below the cut!

The Gram that is Instant

As most of the people on the planet, I have an Instagram. At one time I had an iPhone and joined on there. 3 pictures later and I was completely done with it. No clue what to do with the program as it was in it's infancy and I just didn't see the point.

I switched to a Droid. Everyone should.

Anyway, I re-added Instagram and have since added many people to follow as well. It reminds me a bit of twitter and tumblr so its not super difficult to get.  Take a picture, write a note underneath it, submit to Instagram and whatever other favorite social sites you have.

I am THAT person. Say hi to Boo (Jareth).

Talking, Chittering, and Chatting.

Coming up with some thing to post about is a lot harder then I realized. I talk all day long. ALL DAY. I work as a dispatcher for a towing company that is a good size. Usually the day is broken up into parts of busy and slow.

I crave the slow just so I don't have to talk so much.

I've learned that talking is an essential part of life, especially when you work customer service. I talk to customers, my drivers, to different motor clubs and my boss. It took me a few years to realize that since I'm so chatty at work, I don't talk at home. When I live by myself, where it is just me and the cat, I rarely say two words until I get to my job again.

Sometimes I wonder if the cat thinks I'm mute.

August Ipsy Subscription Bag

Back in May, I found out about subscription services. All kinds can be found for anything you'd like from makeup, food to pet stuff. You pay a set price per month (either s&h is included or not) and they send you a box or bag filled with either samples or full size products to try.

Ipsy ( http://www.ipsy.com/ ) used to be called MyGlam. For just $10 a month that you can cancel any time, you can get a custom made bag and around 5 pieces of full size or sample makeup. Also included is a card telling you that if you go to your MyGlam page (on the website) there will be codes to get discounts on the products you an receive in the bags.

This is this month's bag, apparently the print on my is backwards but isn't that a really gorgeous color? My phone doesn't show how really deep and nice it is.
(Soon I'll have a nice phone..soooo soon)

Some people still haven't gotten their bags so what I received is below the jump. Why the hush hush? The products we get are always a surprise. There are teaser photos on the Ipsy Facebook page but you don't really know til it arrives. There's always one or two products that won't be the same as someone else's bag as I'll talk about below. They are based on a quiz you take when you sign up and they try to cater the bag to what you like.

Greetings!

So here is the obligatory first post complete with sky shot. Sup? The name is Tina, 33 years old and living in Pennsylvania, USA. I don't really have a plan for this just want to be completely random and talk about stuff. SomeWhatGirly is about me slowly starting to become a more girly person that I wasn't originally. Long story short, I've been a tomboy most of my life.
